Bea Fitzgerald

Bea Fitzgerald grew up wanting to be a lawyer because her mother told her she could have a job arguing with people. When she decided to study English Literature instead (with some cursory promises of a law conversion course) there was little room to argue given that teenage Bea was rarely seen without a book in hand or tapping at her laptop keys writing bad romance and worse tragedy. Panicking about being an unemployed graduate, Bea secured work experience and internships at a handful of publishing houses and joined the Society of Young Publishers as their student liaison before deciding she’d much prefer running their book club. A few weeks after graduating from the University of Reading with a first class degree, she began working in marketing at Scholastic. A jump into editorial followed, first at Hachette Children’s Group and now at Hodder and Stoughton. Bea spends her days publishing amazing books and her nights trying to write them.
