The Tom Grass Spirit of Adventure Literary Prize open for Year 2!
Tom Grass (1973-2024) was a writer, traveller and champion of bold ideas. His friends and family created this Prize to honor his adventurous spirit and love of words.
Open to emerging writers aged 25+, The Tom Grass Spirit of Adventure Literary Prize invites short fiction and non-fiction stories (1,500–3,000 words) from anywhere in the world. It might, for example, be a journey into unknown landscapes, a leap of imagination, or the quiet courage to confront what feels impossible.
The winner receives £1000, with £500 for each runner-up. Each year, the Prize also supports causes close to Tom’s heart, Charlie Waller Trust and The Enaikishomi School and Community Project in Kenya.
With thanks to continuing sponsor Steppes Travel whose mission to use travel as a force for good perfectly reflects the spirit of adventure at the heart of the Prize.
