Deal Announcement

Avon sign Sarah Alderson's latest thriller, The Cabin in the Woods

Avon Books has bought another thriller novel from author Sarah Alderson. Molly Walker-Sharp, Commissioning Editor, struck the deal for World All Language Rights with Amanda Preston at LBA.

Written with Sarah’s trademark ‘bingeability’, The Cabin in the Woods follows a young woman named Rose, who has disappeared from her New York socialite life in mysterious circumstances. Hiding out in upstate woodland, she begins to worry she is not as off-grid as she thought when it becomes clear she is being watched…

Sarah Alderson says: ‘I’m delighted to be publishing another book with Avon, who have provided a wonderful home for me as an author. Their dynamic and forward-thinking approach is truly exciting, and I look forward to The Cabin in the Woods hitting the shelves this year.’

Molly Walker-Sharp, Commissioning Editor says: ‘No one handles a twist quite like Sarah Alderson, and The Cabin in the Woods has high-octane written all over it. We are so thrilled to be continuing to work with Sarah for another book and we can’t wait to publish The Cabin in the Woods this Summer.'

Amanda Preston says: ‘Sarah always delivers – The Cabin in the Woods is a brilliantly captivating, pacey thriller and I’m so excited about Avon’s plans for it.'

Sarah Alderson is a London-born, LA-based writer and screenwriter whose previous books include Friends Like These (Mulholland), In Her Eyes (Mulholland) and The Weekend Away (HarperCollins).

Sarah has adapted The Weekend Away into a feature film which will soon be streaming on Netflix. Actors Leighton Meester (The Roommate, Gossip Girl, Single Parents), Christina Wolfe (Batwoman, The Royals), Ziad Bakri (Blind Sun, Screwdriver, Le Bureau de Legendes) and Luke Norris (Poldark, Been So Long) are starring in the adaption, with Kim Farrant (Strangerland, Angel of Mine) as director.
