Moyette grew up in London and has wanted to write novels since she was in primary school. However, after her degree in Literature and History, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism from City University, London, she joined the BBC as a News Trainee. Moyette has worked for Bloomberg News, the United Nations, NGOs, and as an Eastern European correspondent. She is the Communications Director at Black Girl Writers, a mentorship programme linking Black women who write with industry professionals.

Moyette holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Queens University of Charlotte in North Carolina and studied novel writing with Curtis Brown Creative and the Faber Academy. Her WIP won the Hachette UK Bursary for Debut Authors in 2023 and was longlisted for the Mslexia Novel Competition. It was a finalist in the TLC Pen Factor Award and the David Higham Associates literary agency’s Open Week for Writers, and has been shortlisted in several competitions. She lives in a sleepy vineyard village in Switzerland with her family.
