Heather Mottershead is divorced with two adult children and has been an accountant for more years than she cares to remember. Born and raised in Shropshire, she has recently returned to the county of her birth after living in the big smoke (the black country) for thirty years. In 2009 she undertook a part-time History and English BA degree, obtaining a first in 2015. In 2016 she was third runner up in ‘Lorraine’s Top Tales’, a competition to find a new children’s author. Inspired by the competition, she has continued to pursue her writing career and is currently writing two historical novels, one of which was the winner of the Daily Mail First Novel Competition 2023.
