Dr Chloe Duckworth

Dr Chloe Duckworth is an archaeologist, university lecturer, and television presenter. She believes passionately that the past belongs to everybody, and that archaeology should be accessible to the public as well as experts. She has directed archaeological field projects at two UNESCO World Heritage sites in Spain: the Alhambra, and Madinat al-Zahra. She presents of Channel 4's The Great British Dig, and in 2022 authored the accompanying book, The Great British Dig: History in Your Back Garden. Chloe was among the BBC's 'Expert Women' cohort of 2017, and in 2021 was shortlisted for the Archaeological Achievement of the Year, awarded for establishing a high-profile media campaign promoting the positive benefits of archaeology. In her spare time, she enjoys life by the sea in beautiful Northumberland, learning to play musical instruments (not always successfully) and practicing traditional crafts.
