Charlotte Butterfield
Charlotte Butterfield was studying for her PhD in Women’s Literary Salons of the Fin de Siècle before deciding to swap highbrow academics for popular lifestyle journalism. Dividing her time between the UK and Dubai before settling in Rome, Charlotte has been the editor of two lifestyle magazines and the monthly columnist for a popular women’s magazine. She is also the author of a coffee table book called Design in Dubai. After having her third child she became a fulltime freelance journalist writing for magazines such as Harpers Bazaar, Architectural Digest, Time Out and a copywriter penning everything from airline duty free catalogues to the blurbs on the back of bleach bottles. She has never lost her belief that writing is indeed a glamorous job. Charlotte’s first novel won a Montegrappa First Fiction award at the 2016 Emirates Festival of Literature, which caught the eye of judge Luigi Bonomi.
